Hunter Zolomon: Differences and similarities between the series and the comic

Currently, if we appoint a supervillain on the TV, the first that comes to our mind isZoom. 

Since its introduction in the second season of The Flash has done no more than represent 

the destruction, the excessive power, and death; something that should make all villain.

Now, if you look at the series, you already know the identity behind the mask; 

and ifnot, well, better stay away from the device in which you are reading this, because 

everything will be said hereafter is a spoiler.

History of Hunter Zolomon (The Flash)

Child, Hunter Zolomon witnessed the murder of his mother at the hands of his father, 

who forced him to observe such atrocity. After this unfortunate event, Hunter is taken to an 

orphanage, and since there are bring a serial killer. In adulthood, Zolomonis arrested after 

killing 23 people.

Already captive, Hunter is subjected to different "rehabilitation", including electroshock

 therapy. While this was one of their sessions, the dark matter generated by theexplosion 

of the particle accelerator impacts with him, providing the speed-force that would make him Zoom.

From there, your mission will be to terrorize and control everything, as well as stealing the other sprinters speed-force. It is so then to open interdimensional 

portals plan how to steal the speed of The Flash.

But, how much differs from the comics?

History of Hunter Zolomon (Comics)

Hunter Zolomon is about to finish his university studies, until he finds out that hermother 

deliver her father for the crime of murdering 6 girls; his father does not support the fact, 

and in a fit of rage, kills his mother.

From there, Zolomon was obsessed about criminal behavior. Eventually, gets a position 

within the body of police in Keystone City. Fulfilling his duties in the police, he develops 

a close friendship with Flash (Wally West).

Shortly thereafter, Grodd escape from Iron Heights, and Hunter is seriously wounded

 during the escape, being paralyzed from the waist down. Completely frustrated

 by what happened, asks Flash to use Cosmic Treadmill to goback in time, 

and save your legs. Wally refuses to intervene in the temporal continuity,

 so Hunter decides to use the mystical device by itself.

As a result, instead of traveling to the past, Hunter causes an explosion 

that returnshim his ability to walk, but also affects their own relationship with time. 

In this way,you can move through time, appearing high speed. 

This peculiarity distinguishes him from the rest of the sprinters.

Hunter understands that the reason why Wally not helped him is that, unlike the previous

 Flash (Barry Allen), Wally never suffered a tragedy, and therefore it is not a complete hero.

From there, intends to take the name of Zoom and focus on cause tragedies in the life of 

Wally, in order to turn it into a better superhero.

Among his plans was the idea of murdering a pregnant Linda Park, wife of Wally. Even though her plan did not work and Flash could defeat him with the help of other speedsters, 

Linda just loses the baby.

Zoom remains comatose after being defeated; but recovers later, to try to kill Lindaonce more. Wally is able to stop it again; on this occasion, Zolomon is lost in time asa result of the battle, and there are able to reconsider their actions and revert their actions... Could even delete Linda abortion-causing accident (don't ask how, are comics)

Conclusions: TV vs. Comics

In the first instance, we can see that the most noticeable difference is the

 identity asa speedster. While in The Flash, Zolomon is a normal Sprinter 

(or that appears for now), in the comics his alleged speed comes from its ability to

 manipulate time, morespecifically, its own timeline.

In addition, Hunter Zolomon rarely has interacted with Barry Allen.

 Because of the time in which it was introduced, the Flash who has rivaled and 

developed its history isWally West.

Finally, there is a small difference in aims and motivations. In The Flash, 

their psychopathy and desires of power behind it, as well as the search for speed-force, you need to go on living. On the other hand, Hunter Zolomon obsession 

in the comics is a little more ridiculous: just want to make you suffer a Wally,

 justified in wanting to turn it into the best hero.
